The Sangamon River

As long as I remember, the Sangamon River has always been thought of as big and muddy. Not often thought of as scenic, but I am here to tell you that it does have it's beauty, if you know where to look. A good place to start is Riverside Park, on the north side of Springfield. The Park is managed by the Springfield Park District, and offers camping, and horseback riding as well as fishing and canoeing opportunities.
