I know this blog is supposed to be all about the back roads of Central Illinois. Well, as I fly overhead, I can see plenty of country roads, so I say that counts. Aviation has been a part of our family since I was a kid. Growing up, my dad took flying lessons, and got his private pilots licence. Use to go flying with him when I was a kid. Never did get my licence, but our son picked up the genetics for flying, and while we don't a lot, we do get out once in a while. The last trip was to Alton Illinois for a lunch meet up with several other pilots from around the region. I think that there were may be 7 or 9 different planes that showed up, and probably over 20 people. It was a good time , both at the meet up, and getting there.
