In my mind, this is one of the most underutilized recreation areas in the state of Illinois. Located north of Virginia Illinois, it is centrally located, has beautiful scenery with a couple of small lakes that are great for putting the canoe in the water for some easy paddling. The campground is rarely occupied by more than a couple of campers, and there are even some nice little cabins on the shore of one of the little lakes.
